Database Vitebit

Beginning in 2022, Vitenova started working on the Vitebit-Project, i.e. on the creation of a database (called “Vitebit”) that could collect all the analyses carried out in dozens of wineries throughout Italy and abroad over the past 10 years.

What is Vitebit?

Vitebit is a database, i.e. a set of tables containing structured data stored electronically in a computer system. In this way, the enormous mass of data accumulated over the years becomes easily accessible, manageable and updatable In order to make it more usable and user-friendly, Vitebit is a relational database, which contains information linked together by means of primary keys (called unique IDs).

What is Vitebit used for?

In addition to storing information, Vitebit will have a section that allows you to consult individual analyses and the aggregation of data from them, i.e. view the minimum, maximum, average values per vineyard, per company or per zone (municipality, province or region).

What data is collected in Vitebit?

A large amount of information has been stored in Vitebit, ranging from the more general (such as company and contact details) to the more technical, such as vineyard master data. For each vineyard reviewed in Vitebit, it is possible to find information on, for example, the grape variety, the form of cultivation, the type of irrigation, geographical data, as well as all the soil, leaf, petiole and berry analyses, in addition to entomological and botanical analyses.

The Vitebit project also includes a data consultation interface, which we are developing, and which client companies will be able to use in the near future, consulting all the data on their vineyards.
